Elegant Holiday Card

Hello, Friends! Mitsyana Wright here, and I’m back to bring you a little holiday inspiration with this Elegant Holiday Card!

 With Christmas soon upon us, it’s time to put your card making game into gear!! Let me show you how I created this gorgeous and elegant holiday card with some amazing products from Little Birdie Crafts!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step 1

Gather your supplies.

Step 2

Cut and fold your black cardstock to create a standard A2 sized card (4.25″x 5.5″ folded).

Step 3

Trim a mat from gold cardstock to measure 4″x 5.25″ and the second mat from plaid paper to measure 3.75″ x 5″.

Step 4

Layer and attach mats onto card front using Xyron Mega Runner.

Step 5

Mix Charcoal Chalk Paint with texture powder to create a paste.

Step 6

Paint mixture onto Chipboard Christmas Wreath. Set aside to dry. *TIP*- You can speed up drying time by using a heat gun.

Step 7

Once the paint is dry, rub gilding wax over the raised textured areas of the entire wreath.

Step 8

Attach wreath onto card front using mixed media glue.

Step 9

Color several Kraft Leaves using an alcohol ink marker. I used Spectrum Noir’s DG4.

Step 10

Arrange and adhere green and kraft leaves onto one side of the wreath, then attach Camilla Cherry flowers over leaves.

Step 11

Attach “Happy Holidays” from the Happy Holiday With Love set.

Step 12

Lightly apply more gilding wax over tips of the flower petals and over raised areas of the leaves.

Step 13

Attach gold sequins to centers of the flowers.

Artist Trading Cards

I would like to introduce Tim, Ben and Joe.  They are members of the Facial Hair Club and they are representing said club today on these  little pieces of art, called Artist Trading Cards, (also referred to as ATC’s.)  I am an ATC AND Mustache fanatic, so I was super excited to see these dimensional stickers in my bag of Little Birdie Crafts goodies!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Technique:

I used a variety of techniques to create the names, each design is hand drawn. “Tim” was done with a white pen, while “Ben” was created using embossing powder. “Joe” was designed with white paint.  A few splatters of white paint here and there and you get the little mishap look that gives them their character.

What is an Artist Trading Card?

It is a small piece of art; the only rule is that it be 3.5″ x 2.5″ in size.  It can be made of cardstock, cardboard, fabric, metal, pretty much anything your imagination can conjure up!  It can be flat or chunky. Artist Trading Cards are never sold; they’re always traded with someone else, anywhere in the world.  There are many Facebook groups that offer swapping opportunities, and even a site called Swapbot.com  where artists are paired up with others to trade. Users can also request directly to trade for another card of their liking, and artists can agree to send to one another.  I personally have sent over 1,000 cards to every corner of the globe since April 2017.  I have met some wonderful men and women around the world, and have even became pen pals with a few!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step 1. Gather all your supplies.

Step 2.

Blend ink color onto box, one color at a time. Blend until the color you want is achieved.

Step 3. Heat set ink if needed.

Step 4. Assemble, fill and add ribbon.

You now have some amazing thank you guest gift boxes for your friends and family. This is super simple and lots of fun!
