Altered Mixed Media Bottle With Waxes

Welcome!!!!

Today I would like to show you my favorite form of creation with – texture, black gesso and metallic waxes. I altered a tiny bottle that looks magical through different colors of paints and waxes.
I invite you to join my creative journey!

I chose a small glass bottle you can also pick any clay bottle with an interesting shape.

First, wrap it with string and gently put on a string of gel medium on top. Wait until it dries. Create the rest of the composition by gluing flowers and pouring pebbles onto the layer of gel medium.

When the composition dries thoroughly, paint it with a black gesso. Wait for the work to dry up again.

At the end,  emphasize the details gently with metallic paint. Remember that the brush must be almost dry. You can also mark details with metallic waxes. I used several colors that penetrate each other.

 Details of my work.

Serdecznie pozdrawiam

Believe In Yourself – An Art Journal Spread

Hi everyone,

Saadia here. I want to share an art journal spread with you. I hope you like it and get inspired.

Let’s start our journal spread:

I applied a layer of  diluted 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste (white) on my journal pages. Next, I applied chalk paints (Sailing Sky, Orange, Butternut and Misty Rose) with my fingers. I added a little bit of water to help the paint move.

After that, I did some stencil work. I applied chalk paint Sailing Sky through the Irregular Dot stencil, with a cosmetic sponge.

Next, I applied ink spray onto Little Birdie Crafts watercolor paper tags. These tags are made of heavy weight watercolor paper and take the ink sprays and paints well. I colored a lot of tags which I will use in a future project.

After that, I added blue paint dots on the tag and stenciled white paint through the ‘Script’ stencil.

Next, I painted a chipboard shape (Little Birdie Crafts Primed chipboard shape Beehive) with Sailing Sky chalk paint.

I then, assembled and glued everything with Little Birdie Crafts soft gel medium.

That’s all for now.

Thank you for your precious time.

Take care and keep crafting.

Saadia Nawaz.

Dare to Dream Mixed Media Canvas

Hello  friends, thank you for stopping by and for the comments you have left – every one of them is read and appreciated!  I have been inspired by the posts of the Designers.   Today I am sharing a Mixed Media Canvas with you – it was inspired by the beautiful Fairy Dust clear stamp set and grew from there.  You can see how I have created it as you follow along with the tutorial.

Spritz the Watercolour Panel with water, followed by Color Splash – Grape Crush, Hot Pink and drops of Ocean Mist.  Allow to dry before securing the Stencil using repostional/low tack tape,  randomly apply the Sculpture Paste using a Palette Knife.

NOTE:   Wash the stencil and palette knife using warm soapy water as soon as possible.

Apply Chalk Paint – Lemon Chiffon over the Sculpture Paste using a wet wipe, once it has dried.  Add ‘rays’ of glue from the top right corner to the centre of the  panel, sprinkle with the Fairy Sparkle – Silver Grey, allow to dry and tap off any excess.

Glue the Chipboard Sentiments – Dare to Dream to the lower left corner of the panel.  Glue a small butterfly to the first letter of the sentiment.  Arrange flowers from Flower Bouquet – Moon Light Forella Pastel PaletteMartins Pastel Palette, Valerie – Arctic Ice to adjacent corners of the panel, Popping up some to add dimension.

Stamp the Fairy Dust image onto white card stock using Black ink and colour using your perferred medium – I have used Alcohol Markers.  Fussy cut/hand cut using scissors the image and add light touches of glue sprinkled with Mica Powder – Natural; dust off extra Mica Powder.  Pop up onto the top right side of the Canvas using Foam Tape.

Seperate the flowers from the  Beaded Micro Petals to the centre of the butterfly, around the fairies feet and to the top of the coloured image.  Adhere the extra little flowers in amongst those on the corners.  Finish by gluing Sparkling Dotties – Vanilla sparingly  onto the canvas.
