Flat Mail Mini Album

Hi Everyone Kerrie back with another tutorial for Little Birdie Crafts . I have been inspired by so many flat mail/happy mail projects I have seen on Instagram and thought I would create a mini album that I could pop some embellishments in, to send out as a RAK to someone.  I created my mini album base using one sheet of 12×12 inch patterned cardstock from Little Birdie’s Shabby Chic Bouquet collection.

As you will see this is a flat mini except for the flower on the front which to flatten down. you can remove the pearl centre and add a flat pearl or a bling centre.

To start. I scored at 4″ from the bottom of base cardstock.

Then to create the min album page folds, I scored at 1/8″ on either side of 4″ and 8″ . This gives the mini album base some depth for adding embellishments.

Cut out the sections on the bottom as this will fold up to create pockets.

Before sticking down your pockets add some patterned cardstock to all the three sections of your album.

Embellish pockets with doily pop outs and journaling cards. I have also added a border with black fine pen to add some definition to my layers. I also inked the edges again to give the illusion of depth to the layers.

I cut three tags from patterned cardstock again doing a lined border and inking.

To create the front embellishment, I added a paper clip so that the flower cluster embellishment can be removed and added to the recipients project.

I left the pearl center in the flower but as I said earlier you can remove it and add a flat pearl or a flat diamanté.

I added journaling cards, burlap doilies, and fussy cut pieces adhered to paperclips to slip into each pocket. I also removed the little pearl centers of these mini flowers and replaced them with mini flat pearls.

You can change out the embellishments and add photos or your could add messages and gift this mini as a special card.

I finished off with some watered down gesso splatters.

Let’s Celebrate Life!

Hello, Friends! Today we’re going to Celebrate Life with a simple pocket style folio tutorial.

This 6×6 inch folio is made with Little Birdie’s “Celebrate Life” paper collection, primed chipboard, Fairy Sparkle flowers and 2 sheets of 12×12 inch cardstock. It’s another quick and easy project, so it’s a perfect gift for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or any event you wish to celebrate and document.

I’ve created a little garden scene on the front of the folio by layering primed chipboard, fussy cut images and flowers over a 6″ x 6″ Celebrate Life panel. A ribbon closure adds a bit of shimmer.

The folio base is created by cutting 2 sheets of 12″ x 12″ cardstock into 12″ x 6″ panels. The panels are then overlapped and joined together with adhesive. A few simple score lines, an easy accordion fold, a little adhesive and you’ve got a lovely little folio in no time flat!

The inside pages are loaded with pockets, tuck spots, pull out pages and lots of sweet little tags.

Cut the tags with the Little Birdie Dream Cut Machine and tag dies. Join the tags together with jump rings to create spots for journaling or small photos.

The large pull out inserts, each have room for 4 photos and a tuck spot to hold journaling tags. Create the tuck spot by adhering just the bottom edge of a punch out doily to the page base. Now you can add a photo and your journal spots behind the doily.

The video tutorial below will guide you through the process of creating the folio base, making the slash pockets, the pull out inserts and little tags.

It’s easy to adapt this basic design for any occasion! Just change out your paper collection!

I hope you’ll enjoy making this quick and easy folio!

Songs of the Sea Mini Album

Hello everyone Hilda here!
Today I bring you a mini album with Songs of the Sea paper collection. I used both paper pack measures 15,24 cm x 15,24 cm and 30,4 x 30,4 cm.
First cut two cardboard sheets of 10.5 x 14.5 cm and the center 3.5 cm.

For the center use binding cloth.
Then create different sheets for the inside of the album.
I also used some die cuts to decorate some pages. I made some tags and used pre-punched doilies and journaling cards.
I cut different envelopes

For the cover, I made a shaker with acetate and micro beads.

For the back of the shaker, I used a chipboard frame that covered with embossing paste, giving a rusty look.
That’s the final result. I hope you like it and I will see you soon.
Hugs
Hilda Skerk
