Mixed Media ATCoins

Hello guys!
Nuneka here with a new mixed media project. I’ve made these ATCoins today, they’re fun to do, you can swap them with your friends and they look really cute. Let’s go with the tutorial!

STEP 1

I cut three circles on cardstock with a die and added a cool texture with Mixed Media Paste 2 in 1 and a cool stencil. I dried well, covered with a thin layer of White Gesso and dried again.

STEP 2

I prepared my color palette mixing several Color Splash Sprays and painted the coins using a brush. I dried with the heat gun.

STEP 3

I applied a second layer of color and while it was still wet, I sprinkled Mica Powder with a fan brush . Then I dried it again.

STEP 4

To decorate my ATCoins I used beautiful chipboards with the words – LIVE LAUGH LOVE. To add interest, I decided to create a little texture using Soft Gel Medium to glue Texture Sand. Once dry, I covered with a thin layer of White Gesso.

STEP 5

I wanted the chipboard words to be the focal point of the coins, so I painted them with Silver Oak Tinted Metallic Paint. I used ink pads and a blending tool to add a little color without loosing any shine. With this technique you can get a wide range of shadows and highlights.

STEP 6

I splattered Tinted Metallic Paint all over the coins and then made my composition on the three coins. The point on any ATCs, including the coins, is to use the same elements (or very similar) to create slightly different compositions. So I used Sisal Fiber, Mini Succulents and the chipboards to make mine.

STEP 7

To finish my mixed media ATCoins, I sprinkled Fairy Sparkle Glitter and glued some sequins in matching colors.

My ATCoins are made in my favorite colors and ready to swap with my friends. Do you feel inspired to make yours??

I have some close-ups for you to see all the beautiful details.
