Shabby Chic Box

Hello Little Birdie friends! Hilda here with you sharing a new project and wishing you the best in these difficult times we’re living through.

For this project I chose an oval box, which I painted with white gesso. Next step was using texture paste through the stencil which I applied randomly over the top and the sides.

In the next step, I applied Little Birdie Crackle Paste also randomly throughout the box.

Then I chose some elements and painted with white gesso and stuck them on top of the box. I also glued some lace on the sides.

Thereafter, I glued some sisal fiber and cotton fabric. Next, I started to stick the flowers and metal leaves.

To give it more volume, I stuck craft pellets around the flowers.

After that, I started to add colours. For this I used Color Splash, green, gold, blue and lemon. Applied them one by one by adding water spray between each color.

When it was completely dry, I applied white gesso with dry brush technique. I also applied some Sparkle Paste, Arctic Shimmer and Silver Sage and some Gold gilding flakes. To finish, I applied gold metallic wax.

Here is the result…

Here are some close ups…

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I’ll see you soon. Take good care of yourself and stay home safe.
