Spring Gift Box

Hello friends! A real spring has finally come to us, and today I, Inna Brigantina, want to share an option for decorating a gift box.

Probably each of us has some unfinished and forgotten projects. So I had a box made of ordinary white cardboard for a long time.

I decided to paste paper over it from the set Aqua Medley Card Stock.
I cut out the strips to size, and pasted over the box from the outside and the inside.

Because the paper is very thick, my box also became strong and reliable.

I wanted to decorate the lid of the box with a flower arrangement. Prepare everything you need when you want to decorate something. I painted the chipboard frame in a suitable color with chalk paint.

I also painted the branches from the chipboard set Laurel Spray

I chose a card with a beautiful flowering branch as the base of the composition.

I made a spring bouquet with flowers, leaves, twigs and cut pictures. I wanted to add delicate shades of yellow.

Some finishing touches…. and my box is ready. You can give it to someone very special, or you can store some memorabilia in it.

You can see here a small video review of the box:

Here is a list of the products I have used:

I hope friends, you are in a great spring mood. Thank you for being with me today.

Purrr-fectly Altered

Hi it is Linda from Down Under,

I am back to share a fun tutorial today –  a little Mixed Media piece –  an altered wooden cat.

I purchased it a long time ago with the view of altering it – thankfully the time is now! I have used Little Birdie Crafts Stencils, Sculpture Paste, Chalk Paint, Mixed Media Paint, flowers, butterflies and more – so many beautiful Little Birdie Crafts products to choose from.

Wipe the painted wooden ornament over with a clean cloth. Tape the flower portion of the Stencil Design to the back portion of the wooden cat, apply Sculpture Paste – Snow Spread over the flower, clean the stencil and add more flowers, cleaning inbetween, add a butterfly or two.  Add Mixed Media Acrylic Paint – Marsh Green along the stems and swirls near the flowers.

Glue a  small Spring Beaded Butterflies Mini next to the left ear.

Using the Chalk Acrylic Paint – Orange Splash  sponge the stenciled flowers – it does not have to be perfect, any Sculpture Paste – Snow Spread showing adds to the look.  Glue Beaded Micro Petals – French Carnival flowers onto some of the swirls.

Apply Dazzle Cocktail – Tequila Sunrise to the flowers using glue.  Add white dots amongst the petals using a White Paint Pen and along some of the smaller swirls. Using Mixed Media Acrylic Paint – Lemon Chiffon and a paper piercer add dots along the lines of the larger swirls and along the top of the cats ears.

Fussy cut/hand cut two butterflies from the Decoupage Papers A4 – Joyful Wings Design and apply near the top of the cats back using Decoupage Glue – Matt Adhesive.  Add white dots to the wings followed by a coat of Decoupage Glue – Matte Adhesive  to seal the butterflies.  Add blue rhinestones to the body of each butterfly.  Glue a single sheet of tissue paper to each of the front legs using  Decoupage Glue – Matt Adhesive.  Once it is dry apply another coat to seal.

A before and after photo – I am now looking around the house to see what else I can find to alter – nothing is safe now!
