Sweet Gift Box – Boho Dreams

Hello friends!  Who among us doesn’t like sweets?  Probably there are very few such people.  And how nice it is to receive a sweet gift in a beautiful package ?!  I think no one will refuse this for sure.

Today, I will show you how I made a box for delicious chocolate.  I certainly would not refuse such a gift!

I made the box itself in advance, just found out the size of my chocolate bar, added allowances and glued it together.  And in the video tutorial, I showed the process of decorating the box.

Used my favorite Boho dream paper set https://littlebirdiecrafts.com/collections/paper-packs/products/paper-pack-12in-x-12in-boho-dreams-12-sheet

Lovely flowers from the set https://littlebirdiecrafts.com/collections/stories/products/bonita-boho-vibes-20pc-little-birde

For the inscription I used the stamps from the set https://littlebirdiecrafts.com/collections/dies-stamp-ink-pads/products/clear-stamps-thinking-of-you-14pc-little-birdie

I hope friends, you were very sweet today)) See you soon

Raw and Wild – Mixed Media Altered Bag

Hello to all my crafty Friends !!!!

It feels like I am here after ages…. As last month I wasn’t able to do any art for personal obligations… But I am back with a beautiful and easy project which can get you a wow effect from anyone who you will gift it to and that I am absolutely sure of!!!

I have altered a simple paper bag into a beautifully transformed artwork with the most famous Little Birdie chalk paints…. If you think that the chalk paints are only for decoupage then here’s a version where you can put it to multiple use by using it for mixed media. I tried it for the first time and I love it …

So without further ado lets jump to the step by step tutorial of this lovely project:-

I took a paper bag made out of craft cardstock.

Then I adhered some papers from old book randomly to add a layer to the area where I was gonna do my mixed media. I also used stencil and texture paste to give some texture at few areas here and there. Once that was done I added white gesso on to the papers and wiped it out from certain areas so I can see the text of the book pages….. once that was dried thoroughly I applied  the marsh green and muted teal chalk colors randomly…..

Once everything was dried completely took the same chevron stencil and added some texture with black gesso and also added the leftover papers from die cuts……  It will look something like this. basically just adding few layers …

Also added the twine the same color as bag just for some balance and texture and added more chalk paint wherever it was needed.

Usually I add lots of embellishments to my mixed media projects but since this was a bag I dint want to make it too heavy or bulky so I added the layers and textures with die cuts. I added some circle die cuts in black n white and some honeycomb die cuts in white. I adhered everything with heavy gel medium as I didn’t want anything to fall apart once I was done. I chose owl picture as my focal point cut bit to the right size added a photo mat with a normal cardstock and stressed the edges.

Any project looks incomplete without the beautiful little birdie flowers. so I added beautiful flowers in teal and white around the picture in a very random way… no symmetry at all.to balance my whole layout in which I have used die cuts I added die cut leaves rather than the normal leaves .

Last but not the least I added splatters all over with diluted white & black gesso. I think they really complimented my black n white textures and black and white die cuts which I used for the project. once everything was done and I was satisfied dried everything thoroughly I added random strokes with black gesso on the crown n base of the bag to highlight the artwork and give more depth to my project.

Its a very raw kind of mixed media and owl looks super wild so I will name this project Raw & Wild mixed media altered bag.  I absolutely enjoyed this art work where I used totally new materials like chalk paints and heavy body gel from the store and I m super pleased with the results. Hope this post creatively inspire you all. so until next time Happy Crafting.

Altered Snowman Box

Hi everyone! Tonya here with a fun altered box project just in time for Christmas.

I have a collection of cell phone boxes that I wanted to alter and I finally broke one out and decided to use some of my Little Birdie Craft stash to create a snowman theme gift box.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Step 1

Gather the Tattered Lace and Tattered French Rose Mat Chalk Acrylic Paints, sponge brush and paint tray.

Step 2

Before painting the SmoothFoam 2″ Ball, lightly sand any ridges, apply two coats of  Tattered Lace paint and let dry.

Step 3

Apply two coats of  Tattered Lace to the Laser Cut Wreath and let dry.

Step 4

Lightly apply a coat of mint green chalk ink over the wreath. Next use the end of a paint brush and dip dot Tattered French Rose to create berries on the wreath.

Step 5

Fold the 4″ pastel pink doily in half and continue to fold until it looks like a fan. Run a bead of Zip Dry glue to the outer edge and sprinkle Vanilla Sparkling Dotties.

Step 6

Cut and glue patterned cardstock to cover verbiage on the lid. Next add white 4″ doily, the pastel pink doily and wreath to the lid.

Step 7

Cut two 4″ pieces of White Crochet Ribbon 2cm and tie together. This will be the snowman’s scarf.

Step 8

Before adding the scarf, glue two black Dew Drops and a carrot nose to the snowman head. Next apply Mod Podge to the whole head and sprinkle fine clear glitter and let dry. Now add Pink Ric Rac Ribbon 7mm trim to each side of the lid. Wrap each side of the lace scarf around the “neck” of the snowman.

Step 9

Loop and tie off cording and thread and glue under the lace scarf. Next deconstruct a mint green flower from the Spring Button Paper Daisies  and roll one of the flowers to create a bud and glue both to the side of the snowman’s neck along with holly leaf diecut.

Step 10

Draw a circle onto a piece of vintage sheet music, cut out, fold in half, roll to create a hat and glue together. Add a bead of adhesive around the bottom of the hat and sprinkle Vanilla Sparkling Dotties.

Step 11

Glue the hat to the snowman’s head and you are finished!

Now all I need to do is add a present and it will be ready to give as a gift…or maybe I will keep it??? Who knows!

Thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Hope your day is wonderful and enjoy creating!
