New Beginning – Mixed Media Canvas

Hello dear Little Birdie Crafts fans! It’s Tracey here with a new project to inspire you. I have a dear friend who’s going through a rough time recently, and I created this encouraging canvas for her. This sweet sentiment from the ‘Birds and Berries’ ephemera pack is just perfect because everyday is truly a new beginning. I just adore how easy it is to mix and match gorgeous Little Birdie flowers and embellishments to create such a beautiful arrangement.

I’ve used a variety of mixed media techniques to create the canvas background and to color and add texture to chipboard and resin embellishments. I hope you’ll enjoy learning with me as you view this video with lots of details and voice instructions.

Tips and Techniques:

Little Birdie Grainy Texture Paste is applied through the beautiful Fleur-di-lis Trellis Stencil and spritzed with Black Current and Grape Crush Color Splash. Once dry, I added a little script stamping with permanent ink and color is added to the edges.

This photos is at an angle so you can see all the dimension created by layering chipboard, resin, ephemera, and flowers. Metal Microbeads and tiny seed beads are adhered to the flowers and background with Soft Gel Medium to add texture.

A close-up showing the beautiful mix of Little Birdie Flowers including Birds and Berries: Celestina and Nancy; Celebrate Life Flowers, Wendy; Fairy Sparkle Flowers: Wendy and Elvina; Bouquet Mulberry Flowers; and Pearl Pink Micro Jewlled Florettes.

This Primed Chipboard Clock with Design and resin clock are highlighted with golden Glaze Paint.

Molded pieces are colored with Chalk Paint, Metallic Wax, and Gesso for a grungy effect.

This gorgeous Primed Chipboard Swirl Corner and Brick with Window pictured in the previous photo are colored with Color Splash and gesso.

I just adore the glittery shimmer on these Birds and Berries Ephemera pieces!

Gothic Industrial Box

Hello everyone, Hilda here. Today I want to share with you a new project, an altered gothic industrial box.
For this project I used a wooden box. I started with using a mould that I covered with Sparkle Paste and let it dry for a couple of hours.
Once dry, I removed it from the mould very carefully. I cut a pair of chipboard elements with Silhouette Cameo and selected resin embellishments to make the composition.
I glued it with heavy gel medium and then I covered it with white gesso.
Then I added crackle paste to create some texture.
I stuck all the elements and primed chipboard to the sides of the box. I also added some grainy paste to add more texture to the project.
To finish off, I applied Color Splash. Started with charcoal and the Ocean Mist, Mocha and other colors.
I give a touch of Antique Gold metallic wax and this is the result.
