Romantic Shabby Chic Valentine’s Day Card

Hello dear Little Birdie Crafts fans! It’s Tracey here to share a romantic shabby chic Valentine’s Day card with you featuring the gorgeous ‘True Love’ paper collection, Love and Roses flowers, and amazing Little Birdie chipboard. Valentine’s Day is on Sunday, so you still have time to create a special card for the love of your life. I’m sharing a full DIY video tutorial including voice to share how to put this sweet gem together.

In this DIY Romantic Valentine’s Day card tutorial learn how to:
~ Use clear gesso to protect your focal paper
~ Use second generation stamping
~ Stencil a design with texture paste
~ Add spatter to the background with Color Splash
~ Heat emboss chipboard with embossing powder
~ Alter metal embellishments with metallic wax
~ Learn my creative process for arranging embellishments
~ Add texture with mica flakes and metal microbeads
~ Add glitter to flowers

Tips and Techniques

Gorgeous roses from the Love and Roses flower collection.
I added iridescent glitter to the roses. Flowers used on this card include Love and Roses: Marva; Nora; Karin; and Micro Roses.
These chipboard butterfly wings are just perfect around this sweet rose!
The chipboard has been heat embossed with shabby white embossing powder. I added a few red rhinestones for some sparkle.
This little ladybug from my stash is brushed with Rich Gold Metallic Wax to pick up the gold from the background and embossing powder.
A close-up of the heat embossed floral chipboard frame.
I used this Love chipboard piece as a sentiment and added a sparkling heart to the romantic couple.
I added texture with Silver Mica Flakes along with Ruby Red and Gala Pink Metal Microbeads using Soft Gel Medium. The gel medium was still wet when I glittered the flowers, so there is a lovely shimmer in this texture area as well.

Vintage Steampunk Album

Hello Little Birdie friends!!! It’s Hilda here, to share another project with you this Vintage Steampunk album with The Classic Gentleman paper, i love this collection, is perfect to create any kind of steampunk projects.

I’ve started using a hand made Little Birdie 6in x 6in album, it’s perfect for this kind of projects.
For the first two pages, i made two pockets
I also cut all the element and journaling cards sheets.
For the other pages, i made envelopes and other designs with Silhouette Cameo.
I also use Little Birdie thin cut dies to add to the project.
Her are another pages.
I cut two tags, one for the inner pocket and the other one for the cover.
A piece of cloth for the album’s back.

Here are some close ups form the finished project.
I hope you like it and inspire you! See you next month with another project.
Lots of love

Shabby Chic Journal

February is the coldest month in Canada, but I’m already dreaming of the time when the birds will return in the Spring.

That’s what inspired my newest design team project: a shabby chic journal for my handmade papers!

I put a base layer of Gesso down and used the chalk paints and crackle medium to get a wonderful textured and aged effect on the front and back cover.

This cute journal is the perfect spot for all the paper I made when the weather was much warmer.

The Shabby Chic ephemera pack and the cute little handcrafted flowers were the perfect addition to the cover!

You can see what I used to make the cover, the easy trick I used to add fabric to the inside, and how I stitched the signatures in, in my video below.

I hope this fun journal inspires you to make your own. Here are the products I used:
Home Decor Chalk Paint Set- Muted
Acrylic Gesso- White
Crackle Medium
Shabby Chic Bouquet Ephemera Embellishments
Handcrafted Flowers
