Hello creatives, Sumedha here! Today I am on the blog with a grungy, rust and patina wall decor.
I had an unfinished chopping board in my stash and I thought of using it for my project. I began with applying some Mont Marte modelling paste through Stencil Baroque Design. I also roughly applied some modelling paste on the edges of my chopping board.
I rougly tore a pattern paper from The Classic Gentleman Paper pack for my background layout
I added some more texture through embossing texture paste – Aquatini and Stencil Rolling Stones and heat set it. I also distressed the edges of my torn paper piece with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink
I covered the entire surface with White Gesso to prepare my background for next steps.
I wanted a rust and patina look for my project so I covered the stencilled and embossed portion with acrylic colors Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Terracotta orange and Multi-surface paint Icy Aqua . I then stuck the paper with Silicon glue as shown in the picture below
I gave the same rust and patina treatment with acrlyic colours Burnt Umber, burnt Sienna and terracotta orange and teal to my embellishments and stuck the elements with Heavy Gel. I highlighted the embelishments with Metallic waxes, Silver Glitz, Rich Gold, patina Glaze. I also highlighted the embossed and stencilled portion with Rich Gold metallic wax
I added some Little Birdie flowers and buds from song of the Sea Collection to complete my project.
This is how my final project looks. If you like it do pour in your comments and Love!
Till next time, Ciao
