Little Birdie Crafts Woodland Stories Tea Party in a Box

Hello, Friends! We’re celebrating the colors of autumn today with this Little Birdie Crafts Woodland Stories Tea Party in a Box project.  If you’re a bird lover, or a lover of the rich copper and turquoise hues of fall, then I think you will enjoy this post.

I truly enjoy making these little flip folio designs.  The 6×6 inch base is made from one 12×12 inch sheet of ‘Woodland Stories’ designer paper. It’s so quick and easy to score and fold these folios!  I am sharing a simple tutorial for creating just the base of the project below.

Of course, Little Birdie thoughtfully created a flower collection that is perfectly color matched to the paper collection. Heat emboss and paint some of their lovely primed chipboard feathers and tuck them in with the floral cluster and string bow.

The flowers are beautiful straight out of the packaging, but I like to spatter them with paint, too.

Punch a hole in the spine, add a lobster clasp, string on some charms and you’ve got a really pretty bit of eye candy!

A Peek Inside

Create a slash pocket on the inside cover to hold photo mats and mini folios.  The panel on the right is the perfect place to add a photo.

TIP:  Score between a row of 3×4 images and fold to create a lovely little mini folio.  You can journal on the front, then add photos on the back.

Turn the flap page to find a cute little tag pocket and a fun flip/flap page.

The flaps open in opposite directions to reveal a nice sized area for photos.

The central panel holds a box pocket filled to the brim with everything you might need to make a lovely little tea party for one.  I’ve added a honey dipper, honey pouch, Chai tea, chocolate, cookies and a spoon.  This is a great spot to store more photos or recipes once the tea party has been enjoyed.

Woodland Stories Mixed Media Hanging Card

Woodland Stories Mixed Media Hanging Card

Hello, Friends! It’s Kathy here with a lovely fall home décor project. This 6″ x 8″ hanging card is so quick and easy to make with Little Birdie ‘Woodland Stories’ papers and embellishments. It’s the perfect way to add a touch of autumn to your home.

Begin by cutting the image from a 4×6 inch Journal card with an oval die and your Little Birdie Dream Cut – die cutting and embossing machine. Then dry brush the edges of the image with a little white chalk paint. Back the image with foam tape.

Next, cut a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ floral corner panel. Back the panel with foam tape. Mat this on a 5″ x 7″ panel of the blue background paper. These edges are also distressed by dry brushing white chalk paint over them.

Now, mat these two panels on a 5 7/8″ x 7 7/8″ panel of the small floral print from the Woodland Stories pad. Paint a Circular Lattice Chipboard with white chalk paint and adhere it on the left hand side. Spritz the papers and the chipboard with Copper Mica Spray. Then wrap the left hand side of the panel with some ribbon or other textiles.

Now comes the fun part! Create a floral cascade with Little Birdie Boho Vibes and Aqua Medley flowers. Tuck in some feathers, Chipboard Grass, ribbon and twine. Then spatter everything with white chalk paint and copper mist to add a lovely shabby chic finish.

I had this old vintage style hanger in my stash. But the finish was not quite right. So I spritzed it with Copper Mist and then it blended in with the papers and flowers perfectly.

Floral Birthday Clock Card

Little Birdie Crafts Aqua Medley Birthday Card by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Hello, Friends! Summertime is birthday season in our family. Because I have 9 cards to make in just a few short weeks, I look for designs that are quick and easy to put together but still look like a million dollars. Today I’m going to share a card “recipe” with you that allows you to make a beautiful card in about 30 minutes.

The ‘Aqua Medley’ collection is a perfect choice for summertime cards. The cool blues, butterflies and floral patterns of this paper just feel like summer! Here’s how I put this 6″ x 6″ top fold card together.

  • First, cut a 6” x 12” panel of the textile pattern from the Aqua Medley Paper Collection.
  • Next, score the panel in half at 6” and fold to make a 6” x 6” top fold card base.
  • Now Mat a 4 ¾” x 4 ¾” panel of the floral print on a slightly larger cardstock mat. Wrap vertical rows of 1” wide ribbon down the left hand side of the panel and secure on the back side with Scor-Tape. Place some foam tape or other dimensionals on the back of this panel.
  • Then paint the Primed Chipboard Clock with a little white shimmer paint. Back it with foam tape or other dimensionals and adhere to a punch out doily round from the paper pad.  Back the doily with dimensionals as well. Center this and adhere on the wrapped ribbon portion of the floral panel.
  • Now mat a 5” x 5” panel of white cardstock on a slightly larger panel of aqua cardstock.  Back this panel with foam tape.
  • Next, center all the panels on the card base and adhere.

Finish the card off with a selection of your favorite Little Birdie Arctic Ice Flowers and Butterflies. Add a white bow beneath the flowers for the perfect finishing touch.

Finish the inside of the card with more designer papers from the ‘Aqua Medley’ collection.

Line the card interior with 5 ¾” squares from the 12” x 12” paper pad.  Aqua Medley Journal Cards make a great pocket for a little gift card envelope.    Stamp a sentiment, then frame it with some extra leaves and a few glittery butterflies from the Die Cut Ephemera pack

See?  I told you it was quick and easy!  You can use this same card “recipe” with any Little Birdie Collection for any theme.  I hope I shared some tips and tricks today that you can use in your next crafty adventure.
