Hi Little Birdie fans,
Here in Canada it’s been a gray week.. with rain and no sun. That’s make me want’s to create a colorful and vibrant canvas to add a little bite of joy and color in my life.
So here a mixed media canvas created just for the pleasure to play with vibrant color 🙂
For my base, I have use a Water color panel 12X14 inches.
I add Grainy texture paste trough the Brick wall stencil with a palette knife.
I have used white Gesso on my chipboard pieces. I choose to apply the first coat before my chipboard was glued on my canvas. For me I found this match easier to do a first coat before they are glued.
Than I have used Gel medium with glass beads to glued down a piece of cheese cloth. By putting a generous amount of Gel medium with glass beads It have created a lot of deep and texture to my canvas. I have use my eat gun to dry the Medium gel.
Once everything was dry, I add some embellishments and my chipboard pieces.
I have cover the the hole canvas with white Gesso and dry it with a heat gun.
Then the fun part begun.. I have spray 2 colors of Color splash Hot pink and black current directly on my canvas altering between each colors. Once I was satisfied with the result, I dry the ink with my heat gun.
To make all the details pop out, I have used a dry brush and Silver metallic paint. I delicately brush the entire canvas to make all the details more apparent.
Than I have use the same colors on my flowers and dry it with the eat gun. Than I have apply the same technique with metallic paint on top of the flowers.
Than I add the flower to my canvas and ”voilà”
It make a lot of joy in my day to create this vibrant colored canvas. As you know I love to create canvas, for me it is a great way to express my creativity. I hope I share a little bite of my canvas passion with you and make you want to create your own !
