Let’s Celebrate Life!

Hello, Friends! Today we’re going to Celebrate Life with a simple pocket style folio tutorial.

This 6×6 inch folio is made with Little Birdie’s “Celebrate Life” paper collection, primed chipboard, Fairy Sparkle flowers and 2 sheets of 12×12 inch cardstock. It’s another quick and easy project, so it’s a perfect gift for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or any event you wish to celebrate and document.

I’ve created a little garden scene on the front of the folio by layering primed chipboard, fussy cut images and flowers over a 6″ x 6″ Celebrate Life panel. A ribbon closure adds a bit of shimmer.

The folio base is created by cutting 2 sheets of 12″ x 12″ cardstock into 12″ x 6″ panels. The panels are then overlapped and joined together with adhesive. A few simple score lines, an easy accordion fold, a little adhesive and you’ve got a lovely little folio in no time flat!

The inside pages are loaded with pockets, tuck spots, pull out pages and lots of sweet little tags.

Cut the tags with the Little Birdie Dream Cut Machine and tag dies. Join the tags together with jump rings to create spots for journaling or small photos.

The large pull out inserts, each have room for 4 photos and a tuck spot to hold journaling tags. Create the tuck spot by adhering just the bottom edge of a punch out doily to the page base. Now you can add a photo and your journal spots behind the doily.

The video tutorial below will guide you through the process of creating the folio base, making the slash pockets, the pull out inserts and little tags.

It’s easy to adapt this basic design for any occasion! Just change out your paper collection!

I hope you’ll enjoy making this quick and easy folio!

Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Tutorial

Hello, Friends! It’s Kathy Clement here today and I’m just tickled pink to be guest designing for my friends at Little Birdie Crafts! Today I have a Shabby Chic Bouquet Loaded Pocket Tutorial to share with you. This fun design is part card, part gift, and part home decor. We will soon be celebrating Mother’s Day in the US, and this design would make a wonderful surprise for Mom on her special day.

This loaded pocket is on the front of a 5″ x 7″ card base. I’ve used the soft and feminine 12×12 Shabby Chic Bouquet paper pad to build the card base, the box pocket and fussy cut details on the card.

This dimensional loaded pocket will stand upright for display. Gorgeous pink Rosalind Roses, delicate Elvina Fairy Sparkle blossoms and showy Pearl Pink Natalie blooms climb up the “wall” in this virtual garden.

Chipboard elements add extra layers of detail and texture to the card design. You can fill this dimensional pocket with gift cards, little treats, notes, or other goodies that you know mom will enjoy.

Make these little gifts really special by “wrapping” them with designer papers and decorating them with fussy cut elements from the paper collection. Although I had Mother’s Day in mind when I created this loaded pocket, this design would make a wonderful birthday present, bridal shower gift or get well greeting.

Once the treats have been enjoyed, the card is pretty enough to display. Or, you can put photos of the special day in the pocket.

Decorate the inside of the card with more of these gorgeous papers. You can add a photo here as well as write a personal greeting on the journal card.

I hope you will enjoy this video tutorial.
